OPEN & CLOSED CELL SPRAY FOAM

There are many advantages to using open-cell and closed-cell insulation as a continuous insulation and air barrier.

Other advantages using closed-cell include:

• Higher R-Value per inch, can accommodate code requirements in narrow spaces
• Hard, rigid consistency adds wall racking strength as well as impact resistance
• Classed as a Class II VDR
• Has a secondary water barrier classification in root applications
• Potential reduction in HVAC equipment size

Additional advantages with open-cell include:

• Soft, flexible consistency retains the air seal throughout the year even with structural or seasonal movement
• Open-cell’s vapor permeability allows bi-directional drying of assemblies and allows bulk water to pass through
